A refuge for remembering and reweaving parts of ourselves
Welcome.
I’m so glad you are here.
My name is Laura. I am a somatic practitioner passionate about supporting people in finding safety, connection and belonging through the wisdom of their bodies. I support folks who want to feel more alive and connected, more at home in their bodies, and in touch with their vitality and purpose.
Why Somatics?
While our culture privileges the mind over the body, this work encourages a collaboration between the two.
My work is rooted in an approach called NeuroAffective Touch,™ a somatic therapy grounded in the understanding that body sensations have meanings and hold a knowing that may have not yet been expressed in words.
When life feels overwhelming or when our needs have gone unmet, we may disconnect from parts of ourselves. These protective patterns once helped us cope, but over time they can leave us feeling cut off, braced, or unable to fully connect with ourselves or others. Somatic work offers a bridge back, supporting reconnection to our wholeness, vitality, and sense of belonging.
How This Work Happens
Two Essential Elements Guide This Process
Attuned Touch
Touch is the body’s first language. With therapeutic touch, we meet the body’s stories in the present moment. This creates the possibility of experiencing true safety, not as an idea, but as something felt.
Through attuned touch, we communicate at the level where our earliest imprints were formed, supporting the body’s natural sense of safety and shaping how we feel, relate, and connect.
Somatic Dialogue
Alongside touch, we engage in gentle inquiry, listening to the body through sensation, imagery, and emotion. With curiosity and presence, we bring these messages into awareness.
This dialogue allows the mind to partner with the body, helping us turn inward with compassion and to orient more fully to what is here, now.

We work collaboratively, encouraging your own agency and wisdom to inform our work. Here are ways this work can support you:
-
Many of us have become disconnected from our core needs because of early experiences of emotional neglect or a lack of nurturing touch. These unresolved experiences often live on in our bodies, quietly shaping how we relate to ourselves and the world. By gently exploring these needs within a safe, supportive relational field, we begin to rebuild a deeper connection to ourselves.
-
When our needs weren’t met in the ways we longed for, we often had to disconnect from parts of ourselves. These adaptations were our system’s intelligent way of helping us cope—but they may no longer serve us today. By learning to gently meet these parts within ourselves, we create the space for renewal.
-
Bringing presence and witnessing to our body helps us connect in present time to our body’s stories. Our body and mind can then learn to work together to process overwhelm, patterns of restriction, and more easily move to the present. By interrupting the loops that keep us stuck in the past, we find ourselves more easily able to access an embodied present.
-
Our early experiences lay the groundwork for our relational life. Relational trauma and neglect compromise our ability to engage with others by replacing patterns of connection with patterns of protection. Over time, these adaptive survival responses become habitual autonomic patterns embedded in our nervous system. Ongoing experiences of trust and safety can help reshape them.
Who I work with?
I most enjoy working with women who are interested in learning and deepening their ability to speak the language of the body.
I am inspired by what our communities would look and feel like if we as women were to tap into the flow, inner-strength and connection that is our birthright. The systems are set up to keep us wounded, stuck, distracted, small — connecting with ourselves, our bodies, is a revolutionary act. More than ever, we need our unique wisdom and energy to emerge at this time. My commitment is to support this emergence.
